FTCWelcome to Queen Creek High School's FIRST Tech Challenge Page! 2008 Here, you will find information on this years competition (Face Off) and our teams. This year, QCHS has two FTC teams (one returning from last year and a rookie team). The returning team from last year is FTC 228 - The Atomics! The rookie team is FTC 3133 - The Burning Fury! Each team is comprised of 5 freshman from QCHS and three mentors from FRC 1013 - The Phoenix (the parent organization). It is our firm belief that the FTC teams at our school be run entirely by the students. Therefore, the students from the FRC team mentor those involved in the FTC program with little to no input from the adult mentoring staff. What this does is develop good communication skills between team members and the rookies (new freshman to the program) in addition to developing team building skills, along with giving the freshman their own robot to work with and build. This program is an excellent way to get new students and younger students involved in FRC, especially when there is not enough robot to go around to such a large group of students! These two teams will take part in the Arizona State Championship in February at Carl Hayden High School! RESULTS!!! After having numerous problems with the Blue Tooth technology used to control the FTC robotics this year, Team 3133 and 228 had a good showing at the Arizona Regional at Carl Hayden High School on Saturday, February 28th. Both teams made it into the finals, with Team 228 - The Atomics taking home the Finalist Alliance Award for the Arizona State Championship. Congratulations and go Teams!! |
